Primary Issues
In the words of Robert F. Kennedy:
“Some men see things as they are and say why.
I Dream things that never were and say why
not.”
JOBS, JOBS, JOBS
We
are on the right track opening up a full time Broward
College right in the heart of our beautiful City. This will
bring professors and students needing housing, entertainment
and retail shopping. As a City, we need to think more
globally. Our Commissioners should be directly involved in
the quest to obtain targeted industries into our beautiful,
centrally located Park of Industry. We want our highly
trained students and their burgeoning families to want to
live and maintain their careers here. Medical Technology,
Green Industry, Internet and Cellular Technology firms have
a wonderful City in which their employees can live, work,
play, learn and raise a family. City friendly signage and
beautification of the City and its medians will help our
small businesses and boost our economy in general.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Coral Springs has been consistently rated as
the safest city in the State of Florida. Our Police and Fire
Department are second to none in protecting our residents.
We have a world class training Fire and Emergency Medical
training Academy educating Fire and Emergency personnel from
all over the world. Public safety in Coral Springs will
never be compromised. However, we need to use our current
resources and shift job responsibilities to have more Police
visibility on our streets. Hiring retirees, using ancillary
personnel for accident reporting, and using the best
technology are some of the methods we can use.
PUBLIC HEALTH
I believe that a health oriented, bike safe,
pedestrian friendly City is one our young families want to
live in. We need to set examples for our youth, and produce
City programs that promote fitness and health. I am cyclist,
runner, spinner, and yoga enthusiast. Our city needs to be
in the forefront of the battle against adult and pediatric
obesity. I have introduced a Broward County Bike rack
program already in place. There are now beautiful Bike Racks
all over our City and more to come.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
We are
fortunate to have the most amazing and talented City Staff
in the Country! I am grateful to Mike Levenson, our City
Manager for instituting the Sterling Management System that
has brought our City the Malcolm Baldridge Award. Judicious
use of our present resources, keeping our tax revenues at
2004 levels, and productivity and excellence through state
of the art technology has kept our City in great financial
shape. I am so impressed with our Organization that I am
proud to lend my reputation as a Doctor, Father of Five, and
Chamber Leader to the City Commission of Coral Springs. I
look forward to serving our City to continue and further its
excellence.
These
are some of the issues I plan to focus on
as your Coral Springs City Commissioner.
Please reach out to me if you have additions or comments.
I
will make certain that Coral Springs maintains
and exceeds its proven excellence as:
The best place
to
live, work, play
and raise
a
family!
